Energy Performance Certificates - EPC's

EPCs have been introduced to comply with European Directive 2002/91/EC on energy efficiency. There is no duty to take action to improve the energy rating. Current Requirements: It is a statutory requirement that all residential property on the market for sale or due to complete after 30 June 2008 have a valid EPC. Display Energy Certificates: Display Energy Certificates are required for a building with a useful floor area over 1000m² occupied by Public Bodies or institutions providing public services for a large number of persons (valid for 12 months). How long is an EPC valid 10 years.
